The Others Opening Analysis

At the beginning of The Others there is slight use of omniscient due to the start being read like a story and the phrase "god" is used which makes the viewer seem like a god like perspective. The threat is established by the actions of the the protagonist and the mystery that the audience does not know. Eg. The opening scream establishes immediate fear and suggests the presence of wrong. Also the actions of the protagonist Eg. Shutting of the curtains to create darkness. The location of the film is set in quite a scary atmospheric setting, the setting is a large airy manor with a woodland setting where there seems to be no other human life around. This location sets the feel that anything could happen.
