Recee Sheet

This is our new recee sheet for our new location. Our new location is a much better choice as it is much smaller and therefore easier for us to film. Also, its nearer to both of our houses, making much more accessible for ourselves and our actors, plus we can spend more time filming and less time traveling. Our new location is also much more appropriate for a horror. This is because it is very overgrown and run-down, strewn with rubble and damage. Our film states that the location burnt down, and although it hasn't it does appear to have. When filming, we are confident it will be a perfect backdrop for our film.

Shot List

This is our shot-list. This is the most important and essential piece of our planning because firstly it details every shot involved in our film. This is very important because when we are filming we can strictly follow this and end up with a complete faultless film. It will provide us a reference point to go off during our filming and editing. Secondly, it shows other exactly how we envisage our finished film but most importantly we now know exactly what we are doing and when.

Screen Shot of Garage Band soundtrack.

This is our first attempt at making our opening soundtrack on garage band.
The one comment that was made and that we were aware of was to add the crackling sound of fire which will be shown in many of the establishing and beginning shots of the short film.

8th March 2011

here is the latest shot of our garage band track. As you can vaguely see from the top image, the track has increased more in its size and depth, there's a lot more understanding in the track and when listening to the track it feels complete in the sense it doesnt feel as though somethings missing.

Garage Band Testing

This is our first attempt at using garage band to make an appropriate sound track to open our short film.
We felt as though the track started to begin to alien however, we were happy with what we archived. Sam has already used a music program such as garage band, therefore he directed me on how to make it more appropriate leaving me to create this.

8th March 2011
since the original music track that was created many weeks ago, we have developed a base tone for the opening track above. We feel that the track needed this as it felt quite empty and needed a base tune.
I personally (Andrew) am happy with what i have achieved for the beginning track with Sam directing me whenever i have issues with the program, however, i am now finding the program a lot easier to control and understand the concept of all the individual sections that come with the program.

Sound outline

This is our sound outline plan. This details the non-diagetic sounds we plan to include in the soundtrack over our film. We felt it was important to have everything detailed down to the second as alot of our sound affects are only applicable to very short sections of our film and so must be accurate. It will also give us a reference for sound editing.

To open the titles, we thought that this was a ideal theme.

Poltergeist Rating

Above are the IMBD ratings. We looked The Others, Dark Water, Poltergiest, The Grudge, all of which scored around the 6/7 mark. On all films, there were a high number of votes which indicates that the films were reaching a high number of viewers. Horror is a universal genre which can interest anybody. I think the films we studied are good models because of their rating.
