Sam Cox's Assessment Homework.

Use of camera
I feel that during the filming our use of the camera was good. We used a tripod to keep the camera steady and to help us frame it properly. Too accomplish proper framing we used the grid. Our final film was also quite good because of a variety of shot types. The shot types we used included, close ups, mid shot, over the shoulders ect. yet always keeping the continuity of the 180 degree rule and 30 degree rule.

Use of Editing
Our editing i feel is our strongest point. On our film our continuity editing was good and the shots flowed well. However, we didnt use any other transitions than normal.

Selection of Content
The only costume we used was a hospital dress which we covered in tomato ketchup to symbolise blood. We also used alot of makeup to achieve a ghost-like face of our ghost actor. The film we were remaki ng was set in a bathroom and so we also used a bathroom of similar design to film in. Our actors i feel were very good and convincing, especially towards the beginning of the film.

Self Assessment
To complete the film i did the filming. Whilst recording i was in charge of the camera and recording whilst andrew and Josh directed our actor and figured out the angles. I Also helped with make-up and costumes, to be specific, i was responisble for the tomato ketchup.

Overall i feel the film was indifferent. Our use of 180 and 30 degree rules was not good i felt, but then i was shown that it was ok by our teacher. I feel the lack of space availible may have affected this. Also alot more light was needed as we had no allowed for difference in camera resolution. When it comes to our final coursework we will plan alot better and execute our shot list with more profficiency.
