Andrew's 40 Second Film Assignment

Holding a shot steady.
As i was featured in the '40 second clip', there wasn't a chance for me to film any clip  at this time, however, in the previous clips and practice runs we produced in and around the college, i was in hold of the camera, giving me chance to experience the control of filming.
In the processes of filming around the college, i was able to experience shooting a variety of different angles and shot types.

Use of editing
In our 40second film, all of our shot flow reasonably well together, however, with more thought and preparation we could have made the shots flow more professionally together.
There are a few shots where it is pushing the 180 degree line which does have an effect of professionalism which we wanted.
In our film, there wasn't any need to included any transitions from clip to clip, our clips flow into each other, avoiding the use of any transitions.

Selection of Content
to create the effect that was need for our film genre, we added make-up to add the effect of a 'ghost' and as a final last resort, tomato ketchup for the use of blood. to say that the use of tomato ketchup was horrid and only just created the effect we wanted, we feel that the film shows fairly well the genre and effects we wanted to create.
Our film is st around the location of a home, therefore we used all the potential the house held to its advantage.

I feel that the actors/actresses pulled off the acting roles they were given, creating the genre of the film appropriately.

Self-Assessment
In the process of producing this short film, my help in completing the film was acting the role of the ghost and in parts directing with another team member Josh.

in complete honesty, i don't feel that this filming was our best, we as group know this and are therefore overall slightly disappointed with the final product. The improvements that should be made to create a better and more professional clip are to be more aware of our 180 degree rule and therefore, for our final coursework piece, we will be persistent in making sure we create a film of a high proficiency.
